About

Mary Farrell

Mary Farrell teaches private piano and keyboard lessons in Mt. Kisco, Westchester County, NY.  She grew up in a family influenced by great music particularly from her grandfather, a composer, and was educated by some of the most experienced and skilled teachers from Curtis Institute of Music, Julliard School of Music, Manhattan School of Music and Chicago Conservatory of Music.  She holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy from Wichita State University, KS, graduating with honors.

Her inspirational manner and patience create the most effective environment for learning.  Her knowledge of voice and drums assist in demonstrating musical concepts during lessons.  Video recorded lessons also provide a unique way for students to review what they learned at the lesson to better prepare for improvement.

She founded, and is active in, the Westchester Music Teacher’s Roundtable for bettering music education and private lessons in 2009.  She is a member of Music Teachers National Association, New York State Music Teachers Association and Piano Teachers Congress.

Mary’s students have participated in New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) and The Royal Conservatory of Music Development Program.  Some have received college scholarships to further their music education.

She looks forward to meeting you (and your child) to enjoy music-making together! Try a lesson!  Homeschoolers welcome.
